What We Believe
Romans 10:9-10 (NLT)

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved."

In a time when the Roman emperors were considered gods, the simple statement "Jesus is Lord" was a bold declaration with profound personal and cultural implications. We believe that this is still true today.  Declaring ourselves to be followers of Jesus Christ and subjects in his kingdom impacts every area of our lives.

We recognize that there are a diversity of opinions and interpretations among the followers of Jesus. But we also believe that there are certain foundational truths that define orthodox Christianity. We hold to these truths with all that we are, without apology. We believe that these truths are expressed most simply and succinctly in the ancient creeds. And so we find ourselves in unity with millions of Christ-followers who have affirmed their faith for centuries in the words of The Apostles' Creed:
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried,
He descended to the dead;
The third day he rose again from the dead,
He ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
From there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit;
The holy catholic church;
The communion of saints;
The forgiveness of sins;
The resurrection of the body,
And the life everlasting. Amen.
